An Important Win for Residents

The Tribunal (NCAT) has ruled – in a decision dated 13 December 2019 before Senior Member Geoffrey Meadows (File No. RV 19/38533) – that an operator cannot pass responsibility for the cost of supplying to a retirement village any capital item by way of buying, leasing or renting such capital item the costs of which are obtained through recurrent charges (Section 41 of the ruling).
