1. Opening of Meeting:
MINUTES OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Friday, 26th August 2011 Central Coast Leagues Club, Dane Drive, Gosford, The Meeting was opened by the President, Malcolm McKenzie at 10.30 am with 132 Members present. Including the following Committee Members: Present -Malcolm McKenzie, John Wheeler, Philip Pearson, Hugh Bell, Jan Pritchett, Vass Mortimer, Judith Daley, Bryan McGrath, and Bill Plant. A welcome was extended to Mr Rod Stowe, the Commissioner for Fair Trading; Councillor Strickson from Gosford Council; Ms Rosalene Jones from TARS; and Peter Hill ( Hon. Solicitor for RVRA).; 2. Apologies: There were 30 apologies recorded and accepted. Special mention was made of two committee members John Cooper and Ian Smith who gave apologies due to illness. 3. Confirmation of Minutes of AGM held on 2nd September 2010: It was moved by Phil Pearson ( Broadwater Court, Kincumber) and seconded by Bob Cooper ( the Manors of Mosman) that the minutes of the meeting be confirmed. Carried 4.a) Short address by Ms Deborah O'Neill MP, the Member for Robertson. 4b) Address by Mr Rod Stowe, Commissioner for Fair Trading. Judith Daley proposed a vote of thanks to Mr Stowe 5. Report by President, Malcolm Mckenzie on Association's activities during 2010-11: It was moved by Malcolm McKenzie and seconded by Barbara Dillon OAM (Glengara Village) that the report be received and adopted. Carried (See Annexure A) 6. Secretary's Report, Jan Pritchett on current matters: It was moved by Jan Pritchett and seconded by Christine Leaves (Mountain View Retreat, Dural) that the Report be received and adopted. Carried (See Annexure B) 7. Financial report by Treasurer, John Wheeler: It was moved by John Wheeler and seconded by Judith Daley (Scalabrini Village, Drummoyne) that the Treasurer's report be received and adopted. Carried (See Annexure C) 8. Address by Peter Hill RVRA Hon Solicitor. After Mr Hill agreed to take some questions from the floor Bryan McGrath proposed a vote of thanks to Mr Hill. 9. Notice of Motion from the Committee -Change to By-Law 3 of the RVRA Constitution: It was moved by Bryan McGrath ( Henry Kendall Gardens Wyoming) and seconded by Bob Cooper (The Manors of Mosman) that: The Committee's decision to increase the fees for membership of the RVRA in accordance with Clause 8 of the Constitution, be endorsed. The motion was carried. 10. Election of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Eight Committee members: Barbara Dillon OAM (Glengara Village) acting as Returning Officer advised that all nominations were in order with the Nominees and Nominators all being in good standing. As there were only ten nominations to fill the positions he then declared the following Members duly elected: President: Jan Pritchett, The Landings, North Turramurra. Secretary: Malcolm McKenzie, Camden Downs Village, Camden. Vice-President: Judith Daley, Scalabrini Village, Drummoyne Treasurer: Bryan McGrath ( Henry Kendall Gardens, Wyoming) Committee Members: Wayne Harrison, Governors Retirement Resort, Port Macquarie Vass Mortimer, Murray Gardens Retirement Estate, Albury Phil Pearson, Broadwater Court, Kincumber. Bill Plant, Alloura Waters, Davistown Ian Smith, Willandra Bungalows, Cromer John Wheeler, Alan Walker Village, Carlingford Further nominations were also sought for the two further vacancies. It was moved by Bill Goodman ( The Manors of Mosman) and seconded by Hugh Bell (Pittwater Palms, Avalon) that Bob Cooper ( Manors of Mosman) be nominated as a member of the Committee. Carried No further nominations were forthcoming. 11. General Business: Questions and Comments from the floor were taken. 12. There being no further business the Meeting was closed at 12.20 pm.
