NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Thursday 2nd September, 2010 at 10 a.m. for 10.30a m. commencement. Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts 280 Pitt Street Sydney. (between Park and Bathurst Streets) 1. Opening of Meeting 2. Introductory Address by The Hon.Virginia Judge MP, Minister for Fair Trading 3. Apologies for Non Attendance 4. Confirmation of Minutes of Annual General Meeting held on 28 August 2009 5. President's Report (and comments thereon) on the Association's activities for the year. 6. Secretary's Report (and comments thereon) on current subjects 7. Financial report by the Treasurer 8. Peter Hill, Solicitor for RVRA Management Committee - presenting the Notice of Motion from the Committee - To Receive and adopt the Constitution (see details below) 9. Election of Office-Bearers comprising President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer plus Eight Committee members 10. Address by Mr Greg Aplin MP, Shadow Minister for Fair Trading (subject to parliamentary business) 11. General Business including a Question and Answer opportunity for members to question committee members about issues of concern. In accordance with the Association's Constitution, nominations are invited from financial members of the Association for the positions listed in Item 9 above. Agenda Item 8 - Proposed Change of the RVRA Constitution and By-Laws Motion 1 That the Constitution of the Retirement Village Residents Association (Inc.) NSW (last amended in 2008), be replaced in its entirety by the Constitution prepared in 2010 as submitted. Motion 2 That the By-Laws relating to the Association be adopted in their entirety prepared in 2010 as submitted. This constitution is based on the Model Rules published in conjunction with the Associations Incorporation Amendment Act 2009 - Associations Incorporation Regulations 2009. The following two documents have been prepared by the committee of the RVRA, and have been checked by and are supported by Peter Hill, Solicitor of the RVRA Committee.
